David's picture is a common one for a driver who's fit for life but hasn't trained for the specific demands of a race weekend. Grip, leg drive and short-burst power are all solid. The gap opens up in the areas that matter most once the flag drops and the stint gets long: aerobic capacity for heat, plus a neck strength asymmetry worth addressing.
Grip, leg extension and hip abduction are all comfortably ahead of general population norms. Short-burst power output is strong too, brake initiation and quick direction changes are well served.
Aerobic threshold arrives earlier than a 60-minute-plus stint in a hot cockpit wants it to. Neck strength shows a clear left-right gap on the new test. Thoracic rotation is limited.

Left-side neck strength is running well behind the right. That asymmetry may contribute to late-stint neck fatigue and difficulty maintaining head position under sustained load, so it is worth correcting and retesting.
Limited rotation through the mid-back may increase the demand on the neck and shoulders during sustained seated driving. Improving it should support priority two as well as general comfort and position.

Grip and leg drive are both well balanced and comfortably ahead of general population norms for his age, useful for wheel input and sustained brake pressure. The neck result is the one to act on: extension is his strongest direction, as it typically is, but lateral flexion shows a 27% left-right gap. This could reflect a circuit with a strong directional bias, or it may simply be an untrained muscle group, since almost nobody trains the neck directly outside motorsport.
A strong short-burst output. This is the pillar David needs least help with.

Endurance racing asks a driver to sustain a high aerobic load for the length of a stint, often in significant cockpit heat. David's aerobic threshold currently arrives earlier than the demand curve we would like for longer stints, which may contribute to pace and concentration fading later in a run. This is the pillar we'd prioritise hardest for anyone stepping up to longer stints or back-to-back driving blocks.

Mild forward head posture and restricted mid-back rotation may reflect the combination of fixed racing posture and long hours at a desk. The restriction can add demand around the neck and shoulders during sustained head checks and mirror use, so it is worth addressing alongside the neck asymmetry.
A Stroop-style reaction test run alongside two NIRS sensors: one tracking muscle oxygenation at the leg, and one tracking prefrontal tissue oxygenation at the forehead.
David's reaction time and accuracy both decline under physical load, alongside a late reduction in prefrontal tissue oxygenation. We cannot say from this assessment that one caused the other, but the combined pattern gives us an individual response worth tracking on retest.

Nothing alarming, blood pressure is the one worth keeping an eye on over time rather than judging from a single reading. Sleep and energy are self-reported as generally good, with disruption typical of race weekends.
This is a single, independent baseline, not the start of a coaching subscription. Where David trains next is his call, the point of the Benchmark is to make sure that decision is based on what his body and brain are actually doing under load, not a guess.
